Your practice is precious to you both as an investment and as the product of a life’s work serving patients. When it comes time to sell–and you know you want to continue practicing–you need a buyer that understands where you’re coming from. Fortunately, that’s just the kind of buyer I found when I sold my practice in January 2019 to MyEyeDr.
Here is how being a part of MyEyeDr. has given me the flexibility in my work life that I wanted and is proving essential now as we face a pandemic that may be our greatest practice challenge ever.
A Partner That Shares My Values as a Doctor
MyEyeDr. was the perfect fit for me since we shared the same patient values. We also used the same vendors so my patients could continue getting the quality products that they were accustomed to, in addition to having access to even more vendor selections!
We always provided good patient care, but we now can provide even better care due to the systems and training that MyEyeDr. provides to me and the staff. They were able to layer management resources to better help us succeed. It also helps that I have been freed from practice management and administrative responsibilities. I can focus solely on patient care now. Both the patients and the support staff see how less stressed I am now.
Flexibility to Live the Work Life I Want to Live
MyEyeDr. gave me a ton of flexibility in negotiating the days I wanted to work and when I would take my vacation time. I was even granted time to continue as a Pro Forum Member for Transitions Optical and as a speaker for Alcon.
A Company You Want to Be a Part of in a Crisis
It has been extremely beneficial to be aligned with MyEyeDr. during the pandemic. They have provided protocols and personal protective equipment that make our environment safe for patients, the staff and myself. Many of our patient surveys reveal how safe patients feel in our offices.

MyEyeDr. also provided safe and efficient ways for me to temporarily halt routine patient care, but still see my emergent and urgent patients. They also provided safe and efficient ways for us to then begin seeing patients again once we were allowed. We were able to ramp back up for care as expediently as we shut down.
I was able to effectively communicate with my patients throughout the pandemic. A variety of communications including texts, e-mails and phone calls were, and are, used to keep our patients informed of the changes and improvements in our office. There was OD and staff training prior to our reopening. In-office signage is used to inform patients of our new requirements of their visits, such as face masks and social distancing.
Better for Both Me & Our Support Staff
I am fortunate to be surrounded by staff members who have been with me for many years. I love working with them! My partnership with MyEyeDr. has made me a better practice leader. I can provide better ongoing training and better benefits. I also have a great district manager and regional manager supporting me.
Looking Ahead to Better Times with an Ever-Stronger Practice for Patients
We are looking forward to a great 2021. Plans are already being made to take our patient experience to the next level. We will continue to live by our purpose, promise and vision.
Working with MyEyeDr. has been very rewarding both personally and professionally. I would strongly suggest that ODs consider a partnership with MyEyeDr.–no matter what stage of their career they are presently in!
