TRACK IMPORTANT METRICS. Track the performance metrics most critical to profitability. Pick a dozen metrics, broken into categories of practice performance, retail sales and staff productivity and efficiency.
USE DASHBOARDS OR SPREADSHEETS. Performance dashboards automatically pull and display data from your practice management system and EHR, so utilize this fully. Some practice owners prefer to create their own spreadsheets using systems like Google Sheets. The key thing is to create a system and track it steadily to analyze performance and to set forecasts and sales goals.
FOCUS ON KPIs TO IMPROVE STAFF PERFORMANCE. Tap into your staff’s competitive spirit by sharing metrics to show how each staffer is doing compared to their peers. Opticians wants to lead the others in AR sales, for instance.
