Welcome to ROB Podcast Series:
“Manage Your Practice Like a Professional”
Be the Practice CEO

This premier installment of the ROB podcast series “Manage Your Practice Like a Professional”  focuses on how to become a practice CEO.

Upcoming topics in this series include:

• How to create a simple practice budget

• Net cash flow and impact on bottom line

• Three essential financial statements

• Key performance indicators–tools to manage by

• Contingency planning to protect against unforeseen downturns

BE VISIONARY. Create a practice culture and clinical standards that deliver an experience of excellence for your patients.

MANAGE FINANCES. Learn to effectively monitor cash flow to sustain the capital you need to meet your growth goals. A practice CEO must be hands-on with this.

DELEGATE. Make a list of everything you absolutely have to do yourself, then make a list of things that can be delegated. You will find that while the OD must look into patients’ eyes, most tasks can be assigned to staff.

MAKE YOUR BRAND ABOUT YOUR VISION, NOT YOURSELF. Create a practice that isn’t dependent on you. Take yourself out of the practice name, if possible, and ensure that patients receive the same high level of care and service, no matter which OD conducts their exam.
