Vision Source Meeting, The Exchange, Draws Record Attendance

The newly branded annual Vision Source member meeting, The Exchange, hosted more than 3,100 attendees last week at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nev. Along with sessions covering managed care, the eyecare professional (ECP) alliance introduced a new vendor and branded line through MODO, a national television advertising campaign with Transitions Optical, new marketing resources for members and a doctor and staff educational series.

“One of my top priorities is to educate current and potential members on the upcoming healthcare changes and prepare them for what is to come,” says newly appointed President and Chief Operating Officer Jim Greenwood. “It is important for independent practitioners to have a strong brand presence, support system and network during health care reform,” Greenwood adds.

In addition to the launch of the Vision Source-branded “Eco” frames through a new vendor, MODO, members also were introduced to the “MODO – One for One with OGS” campaign. For every MODO frame sold by a Vision Source practice, MODO will donate one pair to Optometry Giving Sight. The ECP Alliance also announced an initiative in which both Optos and Vision Source are investing to drive the best patient care and experience possible through the use of the Optos Daytona in Vision Source practices. Alcon’s newest product, Dailies Total One contact lenses, were launched at The Exchange, as well.

Members received the first-ever Vision Source Marketing Tool Kit featuring more than 150 customizable consumer-focused collateral pieces that cover marketing, advertising, branding, public relations and social media. Additional consumer-focused marketing outreach kicked off April 29 with Vision Source tagged on Transitions Optical’s national television advertisement for Transitions Vantage Lenses and Transitions XTRActive. The advertisement can be seen on the TODAY Show, Good Morning America, NBC Nightly News and World News Tonight making Vision Source the only ECP alliance with national television advertising.

Additional information covered at The Exchange included the continuation of the member doctor and staff educational series, Vision Source Experience, led by Vision Source Vice President of Practice Development Walt West, OD. Topics included the Affordable Care Act and what it means to members and their practices, the process of growing assets, using metrics to evolve and improve member practices and integrating the Net Promoter Score.
