The Ocular Wellness & Nutrition Society will present “Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Consensus & Controversy” on April 29, 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time/7:30 p.m. Central Time. Led by William Harris, PhD, president of the Fatty Acid Research Institute, the webinar will provide an overview on several areas of health in which omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) have been shown to have beneficial effects.
Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to have positive benefits for cardiovascular health, pregnancy and for lowering all-cause mortality.

Controversy regarding Omega-3 fatty acids remain in several arenas, including the level of benefit, if any, for certain eye conditions, neurological diseases and psychological disorders. The possibility has also been suggested that these fatty acids could, in high doses, have negative effects on health.
