The last two WO Advisory Boards. Nominations are now open for new advisory board members.
Feb. 15, 2023
Each year, half of the Women In Optometry Advisory Board cycles off, with six ODs completing their two-year term. WO Advisory Board members serve as eyes and ears to the WO editors, helping identify trends or interesting stories.

The board members also take on one incredibly challenging task: voting for the annual Theia Awards of Excellence winners. With only a handful of winners and hundreds of nominations, it’s never an easy task.
This year, WO is sending a hearty thank you to the 2021-2023 advisory board, who represent different interests, career paths and focus areas:
- Camille Cohen, OD, of Brooklyn, New York
- Lori Grover, OD, PhD, of the Center for Eye and Health Outcomes and American Optometric Association trustee
- Monica Johnsonbaugh, OD, of Grosse Pointe, Michigan
- Hardeep Kataria, OD, FAAO, of Oxnard, California
- Stacy Lyons, OD, of New England College of Optometry
- Janette Pepper, OD, FCOVD, of Southern College of Optometry
Are you interested in serving on the WO Advisory Board? Want to nominate a female OD? Email mbijlefeld@jobson.com.
Please include the nominee’s information, a description of their interests and what they might bring to the board.
(WO keeps a list – because six slots fill quickly.)
