VSP Vision™ has announced the launch of the inaugural Dr. Stephanie Kirschbaum Living in Purpose Program, a new initiative designed to empower doctors to make a meaningful local impact while honoring the legacy of longtime VSP® Ambassador and VSP Eyes of Hope® advocate, Stephanie Kirschbaum, OD, who passed away last year.
“Dr. Kirschbaum was widely known for her compassion and advocacy, and this program reflects what she believed in wholeheartedly—leading with purpose and ensuring more people have access to the eye care they deserve,” said VSP Vision President and CEO Michael Guyette. “As we carry Dr. Kirschbaum’s legacy forward, we’re proud to support doctors who want to give back and make a difference in their communities.”

Through the program, VSP network doctors are invited to apply for the opportunity to host a multiday VSP Eyes of Hope mobile eye care clinic in collaboration with a nonprofit of their choice. The selected doctor’s nonprofit will also receive a $10,000 grant from VSP Vision. Inspired by Dr. Stephanie Kirschbaum’s decades of service, the program aims to expand access to eye care where it’s needed most while supporting causes that matter deeply to doctors. Applications are open through Feb. 28, 2026.
In the spirit of Dr. Kirschbaum’s passion for inspiring colleagues, the selected doctor will also have the option to host a “Coffee on the Clinic” gathering during the mobile clinic event. This informal meet-up will bring local optometrists together to connect, share their experiences and spark ideas for giving back through their own practices.
The winner of the Dr. Stephanie Kirschbaum Living in Purpose Program will be notified by April 15, 2026.
