Vision Source Ranks Second in Vision Monday’s 2014 Top 50 List

Optometric alliance Vision Source has achieved the second highest ranking in Vision Monday’s exclusive listing of the Top 50 US optical businesses.

The Vision Monday annual report highlights the industry’s leading organizations. Vision Source appeared for the first time on this list with a collective $1.96 billion in members’ revenues spanning more than 2,800 locations in the 2013 calendar year. Luxottica Retail placed number one at $2.3 billion and Wal-Mart Stores placed third on the list. Vision Source chose to participate in this year’s survey to recognize and celebrate the collective success of the independent optometrists who comprise its membership.

“We are encouraged to know that our expanding network is continuing to set the standard for independent optometry, and we remain firmly committed to our mission,” says Jim Greenwood, Vision Source president and CEO. “This ranking validates that Vision Source and our members are well positioned to respond to a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. A unique opportunity exists for large groups of independent optometrists to make a difference, to solve important challenges facing integrated health systems, and most importantly, improve health outcomes. The optometrists who represent the fabric of Vision Source are being connected to the healthcare delivery systems of tomorrow, the innovative organizations that are striving to effectively manage population health. These organizations are in search of cohesive networks of excellent clinicians that deliver a consistently outstanding patient experience.”

Vision Monday also did a spotlight story on Vision Source inside the May 2014 Edition. This story highlighted the company’s history, mission, wide spectrum of member offerings, and a full review of why and how Vision Source members are reaching their full potential.
