The use of radio-frequency identification (RFID), in which digitized tags are created for each frame, allows you to manage your frame board in minutes vs. hours or days, says Andrew Fader, director of design for Eye Designs. A staff member uses a hand-held scanner equipped with E-Grab technology to instantly capture the selling history of each frame on display. This provides a metrics-driven opportunity to improve precision in frame purchasing and merchandising.

Analyze Your Inventory, Then Fine-Tune Your Frame Purchasing and Merchandising |

TAKE STOCK. Rather than manually counting, and logging information about products on your frame board, use a hand-held device that scans your board and instantly gives you detailed and accurate information about each product you sell. TRACK PRODUCT MOVEMENT. Know how patients interact with products, including how many times a patient touches a product, and how often it’s tried on. Apply this knowledge to frame purchasing and merchandising decisions. ENHANCE SECURITY. Use RFID tags to make sure no one walks out with a product without paying. The tags can interact with technology at the door to the optical, so an alarm sounds if it detects a product that hasn’t been paid for.

SET UP YOUR DATA. Create radio frequency (RFID) codes and SKU numbers, and add product photos to an in-the-cloud database that you can access on any digital device. IMPORT FRAMES DATA INFO. E-Grab technology integrates with Frames Data information about the products you sell, so you can easily track details about the products you have on your board, or would like to add. TRACK PROFITABILITY. RFID technology lets you know which products are selling best and most quickly. Use this data to fine-tune inventory, buying more of what sells and less of what doesn’t. Redefine your frame buying on a data-driven basis.
