When you present eyewear to patients, many will quickly want to know how much it will cost them after their vision benefits have been applied. In such a rushed environment, it’s easy to misquote the price.
Our Michigan-based two-location practice is fortunate enough now to have a software that enables us to speedily provide price quotes with no chance of miscalculations.
Here are the details on the technology, Paradeyem, that made our service to patients so much more efficient and accurate. It worked so well in one of our offices that we are now implementing it in our practice’s other office.
Save Time While Ensuring Accuracy
We started using Paradeyem several months ago. The previous price-quote technology we used allowed us to get the information on pricing quickly, but our opticians had to enter the plan information themselves, so there was still room for error.
We decided to give Paradeyem a try because it pulls the patient’s plan itself and also pulls vision insurance eligibility in advance. We wanted to save time and paper when pulling and printing benefits.
Make It Easier to Show Patients Why They Should Get What the Doctor Prescribed
We always want patients to have the best options so that they can in turn have the best vision. Paradeyem makes it easy for the optician to present nothing less.
Every patient in our office is offered a package with polycarbonate, Crizal Rock/Prevencia and Transitions.
If they are a progressive wearer, then the doctor’s prescription would also include Varilux X Series lenses.
We have one other package using lower-tiered options, but that wouldn’t be presented unless there is a cost barrier.
With so many features recommended to patients by the doctor, having a way to quickly provide pricing information is a huge help. Almost immediately, we can show patients how much the exact glasses the doctor prescribed will cost them after their vision benefits are applied. They can easily see all they will get for their money.
Our optician can do a quote with all the options SO QUICKLY. No more calculator or plugging in numbers. Just the simple click of a button and we tell the patient their total.
Optimize Your Staff’s Time
There are probably better things your optical staff could be doing than pulling insurance information. Less time doing that task means more time to spend with patients helping them pick out their next pair of glasses.
Since 90 percent of our patients have VSP or EyeMed, we already have the majority of plans and authorizations pulled and we can quickly just go through it all via Paradeyem to verify what they are eligible for.
With Paradeyem, the ease of pulling a quote we have given to a patient, who may call back to order, is also great. There’s no shuffling through their chart or questions if co-pays were charged correctly. It’s still right there in the software.
Gain Peace of Mind & Ensure You’re Not Missing Out on Profitability
As the practice manager, I am also responsible for entering all of our insurance checks. The accuracy is impeccable using Paradeyem.
Instead of missing little co-pays or overcharging a patient because of a missed covered option, everything is correct. It makes entry of EOPs so much easier than trying to figure out little discrepancies.
Also, I think it gives the staff a little more confidence not having to double check things with a calculator or coming to me to make sure they are charging the patient correctly.

An Industry Partner You Can Rely On
The support has been one of the best parts of Paradeyem. If we have a question or concern, it is answered almost immediately.
Support via Paradeyem is available to us constantly and helps adjust Paradeyem to fit our practice needs. The couple of times we had questions, we were guided through the process so that we could understand how to use the program better.
Training was provided at a time that worked for us, and we are receiving all the support we need to successfully roll the system out into our practice’s other office.
Create a Smooth, Friction-Free Experience for Patients
We usually trial new things in our Brooklyn, Mich., location first because it’s smaller, with less staff. It’s easier to “work out the bugs” before introducing something to a broader populace.
After using Paradeym for the last several months, and getting confident in the system, we feel excited to integrate it into our other office.
In addition to saving time and ensuring accuracy, this technology truly saves SO MUCH PAPER. We print almost no patient benefit sheets now unless it’s some oddball insurance.
Most importantly to our patients, Paradeyem often finds insurance coverage patients had no idea they had, and that’s been really exciting to present to them. They are always thankful to learn that they have a coverage they weren’t aware of!
