Renovating & Staffing to Accommodate a Growing Practice

May 15, 2019

If your marketing and promotional efforts are successful, you may find yourself bursting at the seams with patients and exams. Here’s how one doctor is doubling his office space and hiring new employees to expand the medical eyecare services they provide.

Taking the Leap: Expand Space and Services
Adding Staff and Delegating

STAY AHEAD OF YOUR COMFORT LEVEL. Always go big enough so you are taking well-calculated risks and pushing the envelope on growth.

NEW LOCATION, NEW SPECIALTY. A second location can focus solely on a much-needed niche area like pediatric care.

MORE PATIENTS, GREATER EFFICIENCY. Growth can come in different forms–adding to your patient base or becoming more efficient, or both.

JUSTIFY EXPENSE. It’s always riskier investing in a new person versus a new piece of equipment because you don’t how the new person will perform on the job. So, be sure you know exactly what the person will do to generate revenues.

DEDICATE TO NEEDED TASKS. A task like marketing can easily get overlooked if tacked onto an existing employee’s responsibilities, versus if it is the sole responsibility of a new staff member.

RETAIN. Create dependability in your work output and patient experience by retaining employees long-term.
