Objective visual field analyzer for optometry

Nov. 13, 2024

Konan Medical USA, Inc., announced that it began commercializing its new objective visual field analyzer, marketed under the brand names objectiveFIELD and OFA (Objective Field Analyzer).

objectiveFIELD (OFA) is now available for sale in the U.S., Canada, Japan and select international markets. CE Mark under MDR is pending.

OFA is an objective, bilateral visual field analyzer that measures pupillary responses to spatially resolved stimuli, captured by video cameras under infra-red conditions.

Both the amplitude (sensitivity) and time-to-peak constriction (delay) of the pupil responses are used to measure visual field abnormalities, instead of the subjective push-button human-response to a stimulus required in subjective standard automated perimetry (SAP).

Reports are presented in a classic format that is designed for quick and easy interpretation and side-by-side comparison with most SAP reports.

The device was developed in partnership with the John Curtin School of Medical Research, ANU College of Health and Medicine by a team of researchers led by Professor Ted Maddess.

OFA was recently showcased at the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Optometry.

objectiveFIELD and OFA are registered in U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
