Jan. 15, 2025

Dry Eye Institute, an educational program for optometrists and ophthalmologists specializing in advanced dry eye care and those seeking to advance their expertise in dry eye treatment, announced two new developments.

First, the institute’s curriculum is now available online through DEI On Demand.

Second, the Institute’s live event is heading on the road to iconic locations, starting at The Oasis in Death Valley on Jan. 31, 2025.

Founded by Crystal Brimer, OD, a dry eye specialist and owner of Dry Eye Equation in Wilmington, NC, Dry Eye Institute is designed to “provide eyecare professionals with everything they need to build a dry eye practice that delivers exceptional patient outcomes.”

The program is intended “to empower doctors to integrate cutting-edge dry eye care protocols seamlessly into their practice, improving both patient care and practice efficiency. The practical, results-oriented curriculum is tailored to help doctors take immediate action and see real improvements in their practice.”

DEI On Demand: Learn Anytime, Anywhere

The newly launched DEI On Demand platform was designed to offer doctors the flexibility to complete the course at their own pace, from the comfort of their home or office. Through an online format, participants can:

  • Learn from comprehensive modules covering every aspect of dry eye care.
  • Take quizzes after each chapter to reinforce learning and ensure mastery.
  • Print their CE certificate upon course completion.

“This is the perfect opportunity for doctors to gain the skills and tools they need to build a strong foundation for dry eye care,” said Dr. Brimer. “We’ve designed DEI On Demand to fit seamlessly into their busy lives.”

Dry Eye Institute Goes On the Road

For the first time, Dry Eye Institute is offering a hybrid program at The Oasis in Death Valley on January 31, 2024, just before the GRT Summit.

This event is designed to combine the flexibility of online learning with the immersive experience of a live event. Participants will:

  • Get immediate access to the DEI On Demand online platform, allowing them to begin the program at their own pace before attending the live portion.
  • Enjoy 8 hours of in-person training during the live event, which is the clinical protocol session of the normal two-day curriculum, delivered in the setting of Death Valley.
  • Earn 8 hours of live CE credits plus your online credits for the full hybrid experience.
  • Gain practical, hands-on experience that can be immediately implemented in your practice.
  • Connect and network with like-minded professionals in an intimate, inspiring setting.
  • Learn from Dr. Brimer and other experts in dry eye care.
  • Return to practice equipped with everything needed for immediate impact.
  • Enjoy the opportunity to attend the GRT Summit immediately following the Dry Eye Institute event, focused on practice growth and personal fulfillment.

After the Death Valley event, Dry Eye Institute will resume its live events bimonthly in Wilmington, N.C., offering another chance for professionals to attend in-person and immerse themselves in the comprehensive training and resources the program provides.
