“TAYE Works, Let’s All Support It!”

July 19, 2017

It’s in optometrists’ interest to encourage state associations to support the Think About Your Eyes (TAYE) campaign, says Sue E. Lowe, OD, FCOVD, FAAO. She notes how proud she is that the state where she practices, Wyoming, has paid for all of its active ODs to be listed on TAYE’s online doctor locator, and she says patients, and the industry, are helped when optical manufactures also participate in the campaign.

THINK TOWARD THE FUTURE. The future of the optical industry, and independent optometry, is helped when more patients are aware of the importance of optometrists as primary eyecare providers.

ASK STATE ASSOCIATIONS TO HELP. ODs should ask their state optometric associations to support TAYE by paying to have all active ODs in the state listed in the online doctor locator.

ENCOURAGE OPTICAL PARTNERS TO PARTICIPATE. Ask your vendors if they support TAYE, and point out that patients, and everyone in the optical industry, benefits when they make a contribution to TAYE.

Sue E. Lowe, OD, FCOVD, FAAO, is the owner of Snowy Range Vision Center in Laramie, Wyo.
