SECO’s MedPRO360 to Focus on Management Skills

SECO International has assembled speakers to kick off its inaugural MedPRO360 event, a one-day business management program for health care professionals in private practices across a range of specialties.

SECO, one of the largest optometric education meetings for eyecare professionals, will debut the “one-of-a-kind business education program,” March 1 at the Georgia World Congress Center in downtown Atlanta, according to a statement. The goal is to help health care professionals learn ways to improve the profitability of their businesses.

The intensive MedPRO360 meeting includes sessions on marketing, management, analytics, human resources and other topics for health care professionals, and is timed to coincide with the March 1 opening of the five-day 2017 SECO International meeting at the World Congress Center.

The speaker lineup features:

• Daniel Kraft, a Stanford- and Harvard-trained physician-scientist, inventor and entrepreneur with 25-plus years of experience in clinical practice, biomedical research and health care innovation. His various TED Talks have more than one million views.
• Dennis Snow, a former Disney executive whose customer service abilities were honed over 20 years with the entertainment company. At Disney, he developed a passion for service excellence.
• Owen J. Dahl, MBA, FACHE, LSSMBB, an experienced health care management executive. He received his bachelor’s degree from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., where he was a member of the first graduating class in the hospital administration program.
• John Slavich, director of human resources for Landrum Human Resources in Columbia, S.C. Slavich is a graduate of West Virginia University, where he received a bachelor’s of science degree in public relations and a master’s degree in labor relations.

“SECO is the first optometric organization to launch a one-day business management program that brings together health care professionals from all specialties and areas of practice to learn ways to improve the profitability of their business,” SECO announced on its web site. “MedPRO 360 covers those shared challenges and opportunities that affect private practices.”
